Cloth mask/ COVID19 Response
Due to the COVID19 pandemic our production studio is currently closed to comply with state and city rules as a "non-essential" business. Our team, as well as many other sewing professionals in the city, are unable to cut, sew and ship orders.
Additionally, I've received several direct requests from nonprofit and healthcare workers who are in dire need of masks for both themselves and the vulnerable populations they are working with--they have specifically requested cloth masks as they recognize they will be unable to get N95 masks anytime soon due to worldwide shortages.
Using the guidelines and mask design provided by community health care workers and following best practices for the use of cloth masks we are now in the process of producing 1000+ masks for nonprofit and healthcare facilities at no charge to these facilities.
We are raising funds to offset costs incurred to produce these masks for these workers. Funds raised will go directly towards the procurement of raw materials (100% cotton for masks, twill tape for ties, copper wire for nose clips) as well as sewing hours for those sewing the masks (both our employees and contracted sewers). Our first batch of 400 is already underway for two area Philadelphia nonprofits.
